Verify that the audio pack will work on your system

At present, audio is only supported on Windows and Linux.

  1. If you haven't done so already, download your free copy of Seans Eile. It comes with a sample set of recordings of a Donegal speaker. We'll use these to verify that audio works correctly on your system.
  2. From the Options menu, choose Select modules. The Select Modules dialog will appear.
  3. Click Clear All.
  4. Click the checkbox next to Colours.
  5. Click apply. In a moment, a question from the colours module should display on your screen.
  6. Without typing anything in the answer box, click Check. The answer will appear, and it will probably contain an audio button. (If it doesn't, try another question until you get one that does have audio. You should see audio buttons for bándearg, bán, buí, corcra, donn, dorcha donn, dubh, dúghorm, éadrom gorm, glas, gorm, liath, oráiste, rua, and uaine.
  7. Click SW Donegal Speaker. If you can hear the audio recording, then the audio packs will work on your system. If you can't hear the sample audio, please verify that you can hear audio on your computer using some other program, such as RealPlayer.
